I'm glad I found this thread, I was going to ask what everyone carried, or if they carried a knife daily. I see it's all ready been addressed, I'm a little late to the party, but I'll throw in my two cents anyway.
Like the majority here, I carry a knife every day. Some would qualify as a tactical folder, but they are tools to me, used to open anything a knife can open and cut everyday things that need cutting. Which tool I wear depends on the plans for the day.
1. CAS Knife
2. Retirement knife - Gift from my wife, still gets used once in a while though
3. Main Big Game Hunter
4&5. Daypack - Backup/loaners knives
5&6. (ya I know 5 is on there twice) Fillet knives, one for salmon and one for trout.
7, 8 & 9. My first knives, an old camillus(pocket), a Schrade LB7(work), and a small Schrade Uncle Henry(gentleman's knife), gifts from my dad and grandpa
10. Bird Hunting knife, with a choke wrench and gut hook
11. Multi-tools, they're everywhere, these were the ones handy, one in every vehicle, one in a survival kit, one in the tackle box, one in the kitchen junk drawer, ect.
12, 13 & 14. These are my daily carry knives, still just tools. 12-Call these two my "Sunday-go-to-meetin" knives. Just nice knives for going out. 14. the Griptilian is my abuse knife, used for everyday work. skinning wire, cutting drywall, anything I need a knife for when a utility knife isn't handy. 13 - these two are my inbetween knives, they're nicer, so I don't want to intentially tear them up, but they are tough and up to the task should I need them.
Like I said, they're all tools, and COULD all be used for defence if a gun wasn't around, I'd rather have a knife than nothing at all.
