I didn't read it all, but since you're talking numbers, I've recently been getting in and seeing other Bisley 5.5" stainless .45 Colt guns from Williams in the 0472 and 0470 models with 38- serial numbers instead of 48-

I've asked Williams, and they said they got shipments in with both lead numbers, and have no idea what's going on.

More numbers for you to chase :!:

I printed something on this in Red Eagle News Exchange a while back. At some point, either by error or by design, Ruger began serial numbering all of their Blackhawk models with a 38- prefix instead of a 48- for the .41 and .45 Blackhawks and a 51- for the .30 Carbine. The highest normal serial number I have seen is 48-64227, a BN45X blue .45 Convertible 7-1/2" with a Born-on-date of December 13, 2013. To date, I have not heard of another normally serial numbered Blackhawk...but I also haven't heard of any new mfg. Blackhawks, so think Ruger may be producing something else at this time.
So keep posting your serial numbers!! Maybe we can figure out when the serial number change to 38- occurred and maybe we'll find out eventually when Ruger ever goes back to their normal serial numbering.

Mine is a KBRN-45X, model 0475, s/n 38-XXXXX. Don't see it on the list. It's a Lipsey exclusive with a 3 1/2 inch barrel. It's supposed to be a Super Blackhawk according to Lipsey, but it's marked New Model Blackhawk. Was this posted previously?

According to my records, I bought my 45 Colt Acusport Bisley in December 2001 and my 44 Mag in November 2002. I bought my 41 in September 2003, so I think that date is correct

OK, picked one up at our local gunshow this weekend, but no box or other goodies-

Ser. #47-7753x, 45 Colt, 4 5/8" bbl, fluted cylinder. If i read the list right, its from 1997.

I do have a factory letter on the way to see if this actually left the factory as a Bisley. I can't seem to find anything from that vintage online with the fluted cylinder. I know the first Bisleys back in 1986 left the factory with a fluted cylinder until the rollmark issue was remedied, but a 1997? I'm starting to think either someone fit a Bisley grip frame to a blackhawk, or this is a limited edition (i.e. Talo) that I just haven't been able to find on the google. We'll see what the Ruger factory says, and I'll make sure to post it here.

If any of you guys have any insight I'd love to hear it.

Now that I've figured out how to post a pic, here it is-
