I have been seeing a lot of good guns showing up for sale in local shops recently. At least in my area, I suspect many older shooters are dying off leaving collections of guns to widows or children who haven’t a clue what they are worth and often don’t care. A number of them get taken to a dealer and sold off or put on consignment. Tragically, many get turned in to law enforcement and are subsequently destroyed. I’ve managed to pick up quite a few good deals the last couple of years. Hopefully, many of these guns find good homes. Large quantities of ammunition, often in antique boxes, also are turning up.

I have noticed this as well . Public auctions of collections have been good this spring . I have been able to buy several old Winchesters at bargain prices .

Doesn't seem to be the case here but maybe I'm just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Most of the guns showing up at local pawn shops looked like they were tied to the bumpers and dragged to the pawn shop before they got there.

Must be because most of us are getting old and facing the grim reaper. I know I should be selling but have been stubborn. It`s conceding to mortality and none of us like to.

Ive noticed quite a few collections recently also. Ruger guns show up. When they show up in original boxes and unfired condition, I take a second look!

I don't blame you for that. Maybe even a third look. I should be so lucky. Or maybe not. I don't have much money these days.

There's some pretty good prices at this time too. It'll take a democrat being elected president again for the prices to sky rocket. Obama was the best gun and ammo salesman that ever lived.
