Still working on my project...just chasing it down another rabbit hole.
Can anyone tell me if older Blackhawk SA 9mm cylinders are the same as
Speed Six 9mm cylinders? What is different?

I don't know but it may help you to put this in the Gunsmith section too.

Not the same. At least in .357. DA turns opposite of SA. I measured a NM. .357 BH and a .357 Security Six. BH dia is 1.729" vs Security dia is 1.5". Plus the BH cylinder length is longer.

OK...That won't work. Soooo...How about the possibility of putting
a Speed Six 9mm cylinder into a Service Six or Security Six originally built for 38/357?
Logic tells me that Speed Sixes were made in both 9mm and 38/357, and the frames
among the three guns are pretty much the same, so the 9mm cylinder should be
reasonably compatible...
Oh, I forgot...logic probably plays no part in this.

That would be too easy, Gramps.
I shoot in a "Dirty Harry...DAO" league. So, SA won't work.
I'm just trying to find a reasonable way to shoot 9mm with moon clips
...but, it seems to not be that reasonable.
Darn.

Yep I found a security six cylinder on ebay.
I was lucky in that it fit perfectly. Gap and timing perfect. I did this because If I was ever going to sell it it would still have its original cylinder.

Tk customs did the work. I have been enjoying 9mm practice out of my service six for months.

Extra bonus tha cylinder also works in my 6 inch security six.
