So get the cartridge to that point! Ruger and Hornady have experience in this area. Cowboy shooters would love it. Standardize it as a .41 Cowboy Special or even .41 Ruger Special. Whatever it takes.

Still working on my version. Little more than a box of parts for now. But we're getting closer.

Thanks. I'll still buy a mid frame 41... In stainless... With a 5.5" barrel. Please.

Or....I still would settle for a 10MM in the medium frame.

When loaded to equal pressures, the 10MM give ballistics close enough to the .41 Mg to be just as useful. 8)

Just sending off my Vaquero parts today to Bowen to have a 41 Vaquero made. Super excited. This has been sitting in my safe for years, since the last smith botched it.

Aeroscout - Is there a chance that you could provide some of the details on your build, whether here on the thread or thru a PM - Greatly appreciate it, that pretty close to a dream build for me. Beautiful - Thanks for posting it! - Bill in MA

I have 2...
Andy Horvath made them from a 357 Mondago and a 357 Bisley , both SS.
The cylinders are able to take any factory length bullet [ 1.60in]
and they shoot like a house a-fire........
The thing is,, why try to shoot super heavy bullets [260=295]
when normal [210 to 230] punch holes like a drillpress????
Also the lighter guns KicK some.

Dang, I have enough trouble hanging on to a OM .41 Mag on the old large frame. Would not begin to try on a medium frame  .....but then I've reached the age where the only thing that heavy recoil does is make my hands sore

Had mine back from Gallagher for about a month. He turned it around very quickly. I really love it and the work is top notch. The price was excellent and about half of what I was quoted by another smith mentioned here. This is before I made the grips for it.

When I first bought the gun that I was going to rob the frame from, the local gun shop said he could do it. When I finally forced him to give me back the 44 Mag Vaquero frame that was the donor, this is what it looked like.

You can see that John fixed that and his new roll mark looks factory. With case hardening by Turnbull

Had him turn the barrel to remove the billboard and the cylinder to remove the roll mark.

Shoots very, very well. That is 6 rounds of a 225 hardcast by me.

I may have missed something, but ......
the very nice Vaquero above is built on a 44 Mag (and therefore Large) frame?
