This thread is #2 (yep, I had put #3 in the heading - tried to change it but can't)

Here is #3. 44 Mag with a companion 44 Spec cylinder.

BTW, I am running out of room on my hoster (images that I can post) and I will soon be needing to clear some out for more project albums. Most of these will be in that lot so if you would want to keep any of these my suggestion is to copy/paste them into your own folder you create on your C-Drive.

Some of you guys leave me in awe of your metal working skills. How neat to be a machinist, and have the tools needed to practice the craft!

Sir,

Two questions regarding your making of these revolvers.

1. "Cylinder actual align bored to barrel axis within .0005"

Line boring is to align the cylinder chambers to the very first part of the barrel after forcing cone? If so, what is changed to accomplish this? Can't change size of chamber nor bore of barrel. Also each of the 6 chambers must be aligned to the same bore?

From Internet that did not help me understand;

Lineboring (line boring, line-boring) implies the former. Backboring (back boring, back-boring) is the process of reaching through an existing hole and then boring on the "back" side of the workpiece (relative to the machine headstock).

2. You made a furnace from a metal can and insulation? What is heat source? Are you hardening the piece with nut and threads? Would that be a die?

I thank you for taking your time to make these available to all and answering our questions.

1. Had plenty of room lengthwise with the rechambered to 45 Colt 357 Maximum cylinder.

2. The Mansen combo throating/chambering reamer had the recess cutting "ridge".

3. I wanted to close up the cylinder to frame ends in the frame window as much as possible (barrel only protrudes .015 from the frame).

4. I like them.
