I have been watching the asking prices on the SR1911 and SR1911 CMD since they came out. Initiall prices were $699 for the SR1911 and a bit more for the CMD version, $719. A few of the larger stores (Cabelas, etc.) had and still has them for $799. A local shop has had them for the past few months for $610 for the SR1911 and $619 for the SR1911 CMD. They said that now they were easily available and prices had dropped accordingly.

Has anyone seen better pricing than the above?

Merry Christmas.

Actually ... INITIAL PRICES were $799 or whatever the market would bear ... A year later, prices dropped to the $700-725 area. Now prices are as low as $549 according to some who answered the 1911 pricing survey.

I'd say average right now is around $600-625 for either one. There's no reason one should be priced any differently than the other.

There's one in the classifieds now for $625 shipped, which would save you the tax but cost you for the transfer. It's had no takers ....

I'd say the saturation point has been reached.

When they came out most wholesalers had them at $535 to $545. Now They are wholesaling for around $550 maybe a few bucks more. The prices are the same for both models. So the wholesale prices have crept up alittle and the high gouging retail prices have come down. The reason is there is a glut of them on the market now and most wholesalers have them to sell. In the beginning they were on allocation and if you didn't have a good salesman at your jobber you didn't get any.

Update 12-28-13. Small wholesale price increase on both models. Running from $578.00 to $589.00 depending on wholesalers

I bought mine a few weeks back for $599, both models at that price so I had my choice. They are in stock and available day in/day out now in Arizona.

I missed this thread before posting my own 'good deal' on a SR1911 Commander, http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=194506

But I haven't seen a reduction of pricing for the Commander around where I live or online so I am still thinking of pulling the trigger on the deal I found.

During the summer prices were closer to $700 or more mark in my area, north Georgia.

Now they seem to be $650 at my LGSs.

And hooray for a dedicated thread site for the SR1911; just returned after being gone since Oct. 4.

Saw a SR1911 and SR1911CMD a few weeks ago for $629 each in a gun store. Yes, I think the prices are coming down, but the rumor is Ruger will announce another 1911 at the SHOT show.

Saw one at the Saxet show in San Antonio TX today for $569, lowest I've ever seen a Ruger 1911 in Texas since they came out. Saw several others in the $625-650 range.
