Wow-why does Ruger keep producing new stuff I want but can't afford!! Very nice- wonder what the real world price will settle down to be? Thanks Jeff for the excellent notification and review.

oh great another gun I can't buy in CT

Can't buy it here in S.C. either... at least not at $2,200 freaking dollars......

what ever happened to a gun the regular guy can afford?

It seems to me like semi-auto 'assault' rifles are going the same route as select fire ones... only the rich can afford them.

"BTW, anyone observed the cost of and seemingly difficult to find 308 ammo? "

Just as a sidelight, I never had trouble getting 6.8 SPC rounds for my Mini-14.

Interesting gun, but I don't see much of a market....but I could be wrong.
Anyhow, I wish 'em luck.

Haven't seen anything posted here on the new .308/7.62Nato SR-762 http://www.ruger.com/products/sr762/index.html. I just got the email this morning. Maybe not for everyone but it sure looks nice. Here is the Gunblast article on it.

I sure would like to shoot one prior to purchase. Looks to me like this thing is going to try and remove your shoulder due to the non padded collapsible stock.

What do you think??

I suspect Mr. Bill is rolling in his grave over this one! With S&W, Sig, Colt, Remington, DPMS, and just about everybody else, except Winchester & Browning, Ruger is just trying to get their market share of the profits. I think the XGI was a better looking and more affordable choice, had they made it work. Bob!! :)
