Greetings all. Newbie to scopes and, generally, rifles altogether, but found an Hawkeye Compact in 7.62 x 39 to match all this commie ammo I have and don't know what to mount to it for a scope. Suggestions would be appreciated - I think a Nikon would be a nice fit, but which one?

Also, are there any iron sights available for this rifle? Thanks for you input.

The Nikon Prostaff in 2X to 7X or 3 to 9 is a good choice. Burris Fullfield is a good line too, as is their Timberline. They're fairly compact and a good fit on smaller rilfes. Their front bells are usually 40mm or so and can sit fairly low.

The Burris Timberline in 4 to 14X with 32 mm front bell is very small, it used to sell for about $179.00 but the price has gone up quite a bit.

Natchez sells refurbished Nikon, Burris scopes for some very good prices. SWFA has their "Sample List" of demo scopes with pretty good prices too.

Leupold also makes an entry level "Rifleman" line.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I want some magnification, so I'm going to look at the Burris as mentioned, as well as the Nikon. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Any suggestions for iron sights?
