Well, I'm surprised how calm and casual some owners are about owning/shooting a gun that has proven to at least several people in it's short production history to be dangerous. It's regrettable but I can't throw down a few hundred bucks for a gun that has proven to be serious trouble at times. Maybe this only happens to one in a thousand but of the dozen or so videos I saw about this gun on YouTube.com three of them showed this gun to be serious trouble. I don't like those odds at all.
Here's the rather useless and unconvincing reply I just got from Ruger when asking for their position on this gun by Email:
Response:
"We have sold a large amount of these pistols and have countless satisfied customers who have found their firearm to be excellent. Ruger stands behind all of their firearms with a manufacture warranty. If any questions or problems should ever arise with your SR22, you would simply need to call our Customer Services Department where a representative would
assist you. (928)778-6555 Mon-Fri. 8 am-5 pm mst.

I should have known they aren't going to acknowledge problems with the gun considering the legal ramifications. They are only willing to say if it breaks we'll fix it. Call me chicken but I'm not going to risk losing an eye or a finger or worse when I know for a fact some people have experienced serious trouble with this gun.
