In preparation for an upcoming Elk hunt I put about 200 rounds through the Bisley 45 off the back porch of the farm I keep an eye on. It's not a real hard working farm, just 4 horses and some goats and a cat or two, they let me hunt the farm and I watch the house while they are gone, the bonus is the also want me to keep it varmint free...I saw a fox with 3 little ones that I allowed to pass without putting lead their way...fox kits are just too damn cute although there momma had some duck confit recently. Maybe I am getting soft...

I took advantage of the cool morning and hung the steel plate at about 85 steps. I use different positions like I'd encounter while hunting...This 45 is the best hunting gun Ruger makes out of the box. If I do my part, this thing hits the mark every time. That Mark I is responsible for the little marks...gives me something to do while the big gun cools off. For a 50yr old rimfire it shoots great and the fixed sights require no kentucky windage. This is with the bulk WW Wildcats too. I've been shooting up some old stock ammo from 2010. With an 8 month old I am glad I had the stockpile! These are from my IPhone so they aren't as high quality. What a great morning!

Yes it's "dirty" for all you fellas who like to call out 2400 ...it shoots lights out for me. A wipe and a bore snake will have it looking good as new

What a great hunting revolver. Nice to have a private shooting range.

They can say what they want to, 2400 has give me accurate loads in my 44 cal handguns, the best loads i ever got in my sixguns was with 2400, George.

Nice!

I'll take a bad day of shooting over a good day at work anytime!

:D

Mine likes that 18.5g of 2400 load with about any bullet I put on top but more often than not it will be a 255 swc

Looked for one of those 5.5 Bisley 45s for a long time finally gave up. Glad to see you using yours as intended by manufacturer,

Enjoy Elk Season, a well placed hit with the load you're shooting will put an elk down with authority.

I kill them quite efficently with a 7X57 Mauser. Bullet placement is vital.
