I'll play....

Mountain William...I like your style: I have it's Brother; rather, Dad currently does, as I gave it to him, unfired, For a Father's Day gift a few years back, when he gave my Brother his Colt Double Eagle:

Aaaaaand...these currently reside in my safe:

A Springfield 1911-A1(pre-Brazil; "NM" serial#, & made HERE 8) ) , as refinished by Robar, not too long ago. Came to me, in a trade...in pieces, in a box. From Alaska, obviously "rode hard & put away wet" , in a roundabout way in 2004 or so...and sat until last year, when i finally "rebuilt" it...all new guts, minus frame, slide, barrel n trigger. My 1st build (w help). She was rough on the outside, so Robar (whom I've used before on my Sig P228) got the job of NP3'ing the internals, Electroless nickel-ing the slide, and applying Rogaurd to the frame.

I like their work! :D :

Image

And this, my 1st ever 1911, a Detonics CombatMaster MK VI. THIS is the gun that got me into handguns before I could own one, and 1911's in particular, as introduced by one Jerry Ahern & John Thomas Rourke...

Can you tell I am a fan of Detonics? :

Image

As a side note, these two pieces...the CombatMaster n Springfield...shoot better than a few tell me they have a right to...they always make me look good @ the range!

Well, my SR1911 came and left --- unfired ---. Supposed to get it back in about six months.

In the mean time:

My first 1911 - bought new in 1970 for $125 - a few mods later. This old girl has been to the dance a bunch

Image

Next up is a 1911 I built (sorry - assembled) from factory seconds. Then I sent it to Wilson and had it hard-chromed. Still goes bang every time I squeeze the trigger

Image

After that, I wanted a Hi-Cap 1911 and went with a Para P14-45. Early model that has never had a pistol related MALF. NP3 lower with Black Roguard slide. As soon as VZ came out with grips for it - I jumped on a pair

Image

I wanted an Ed Brown and CJ had one in stock just like I wanted. Stainless Executive Elite. No mods necessary

Image

After that, I wanted to get a Sig Sauer 1911 with a threaded barrel. I had previously put a Storm Lake TB in the Para and bought an AAC Ti-Rant.

Image

Oh ---------- pics of the SR1911 before it made it's temporary escape

Image

I guess that's it for now. I will post pics of the SR1911 when it gets back, and I have a Bead-Blasted LB Commanche Monolith on order with CJ that should come in around the same time.

Thanks. It is a Wilson. Bought it in blue and installed it before shipping the pistol to Bill for the hard-chrome.

Nice finish on that Sig 22 Dave! My GSG has a darker more parkerized appearance. Looks like they changed the colors for the Sig. Are those the stock grips or did you do a little Springfield swapping ??? :D

Do the Sigs have the threaded barrel ?

REV

REV, just got this one, haven't had a chance to examine it really close. My understanding is that it is mechanically the same as a GSG. Those are the stock grips. I also picked up a couple of GSG mags. Hope to get it out to the range buy next week. :D

Dave

It is mechanically the same because it is a GSG with a fancy paint job, U.S. Grips and Sig Sauer on it. GSG make them for Sig. Same gun $100.00 more

If I have not posted it, then an SR1911 with the Wings grips from Ruger.

Or a Colt Special Combat Gov with Desert Ironwood grips from Esmeralda on it.

Or a Gold Cup Commander with Redwood burl grips from Sarge.
