My wife gave me a sr1911 for our wedding anniversary, just got it today. Looks and feels pretty nice. I gave it a good cleaning but haven't had a chance to shoot yet. The only thing I didn't like was how loose the grip safety is. It really rattles around.

Can a guy just bend the spring out a little bit to put more pressure on the grip safety?

My grip safety and trigger both are loose fitting. Has not been a problem. Enjoy the gun.

Yeah you can....but;
Go gently, leaf springs are touchy to fool with.
Do not mess with the "finger" that sits against the sear.
Afterwards, your ".45" might still "rattle" a bit when shaken. Most of them do.

Hope this helps.

Mine was so loose that it rattled around just carrying the pistol. I was very surprised a gun could get sent out like that. It seemed to function fine though.

I went ahead and gently pulled out on the spring. It didn't take much and almost all of the front to back looseness of the grip safety was gone. There is still a little side to side wiggle, no more than any other 1911 I have seen.

I should be getting out to shoot the Ruger for the first time today. I'll post back with results.

Thanks
