Following Revhigh's advice, I recently ordered four Metalform "OEM" mags from CDNN for my old Colt 1911A1. At the time I bought them, they were on sale for $7.95 each, with a total shipping cost of $5-something, no matter how many were shipped.
Below is an overview of my experience;
CDNN has an easy to use website.
Thus far, they have not passed-on my information to anyone else.
If you're a Texan, ya got's to add state sales tax.
I was informed via e-mail when my order would be shipped.
I was given a USPS tracking number.
It took 4 days from the night of my order for the mags to arrive.
All four mags were individualy packaged iside a heavy "priority" envelope.
I discovered that Metalform makes a good copy of the USGI mag.
All four of the mags that I recieved fit and "dropped free".
All four fed/functioned perfect in my gun and all four locked the slide back when run dry.
All in all, this was the best deal I've seen on "decent" 1911 mags in a while, so I plan to buy ten more the next time they go on sale.

My gun aint your gun.
Mine is a "box-stock" 1911AI, and all that that implies.
If your particular gun is a finicky-feeder, ya got's problems on your hands that these mags aint going to fix.
My testing was done using various "hardball" ammo with mixed headstamps. I don't even own any HP-ammo, so if that's what you shoot in your 1911, you're on your own there.

I bought five of them and have compared them to my checkmates and like the checkmsted better from looks only. stupid i know but i like the flat base plates better. they look the same quality and the metalforms are easier to load so its six of one half a dozen of another. would i buy more yes you can always use more mags and they have a good price it seems often.

Of course you are right.
I was just saying that if your particular gun requires some sort of splecialty-mag to run right (I've seen some that do), these aint what you're after. Except for a couple of meaningless details, these are basicly just a close-copy of the USGI mag that has been around for a hunert years.

Yup. All the expensive mags do better than the inexpensive metalforms is seperate you from your money more quickly.
