Picked this baby up today! I paid more than I would have if I would have just waited. But its the second one I have ever seen. Was going to go a different route until I found this one and had to have it! Found it when a buddy and I went to this shop that had a new SP101 in .22LR that he was buying. We wiped them down quick and put a few rounds through them. Shoots awesomely. We put some holes in an old sleeper he had in his hills.

That new .22 SP is a sweet little gun too!

I fixed that for ya!!! 8)

Nice!!! Would you care to share it's serial number with us? A partial minus the last 2 or 3 digits would be fine.

Enjoy! I'm taking mine out later this afternoon and putting a box or two through it.

It's nobodies business how much you paid for it. Some like to gloat on the fact that they got theirs cheaper than others. You saw it, you liked it, and you bought it. Congratulations on making a fine purchase.

I don't see where anybody even asked how much he paid for it. Why create a controversy where none exists ??

Who cares anymore what somebody paid for one ? We all pretty much know where we stand regarding what we'll pay ... or have paid.

Congratulations on the new 1911 ! Those are good looking grips ... nothing beats quality double diamonds !

Serial is 670-117xx

Date on my little envelope with test fire case is Dec '11. I was really wanting to get one in 2011, as its my first 1911, 100 year anniversary and everything. I didnt buy it in 2011, but I guess I can at least say it was built in 2011.

I put about 200 rounds through it this weekend. Had one FTE but I think the mag was loaded a little weird and it didnt like it. Other than that everything functioned perfect. Now I just have to clean the cases, reload them, and I will have another 200 or so through it!

Anyone know a good place to get some stainless controls?

Heres another picture.

I was on Numrich buying an inner assembly for the tube mag on an 87A I had laying around. A bought slide stop and thumb safety from them. Thats the cheapest of what would need to be changed to stainless. See how I like that look before I guy the grip safety and mainspring housing.

When you find out how much it will cost to replace all those black parts, you'll quickly realize that if you don't like the black controls ... you could/should have bought another ... much higher level gun ... and YES, it would be made in the USA as well. :D

They're not $5 parts, and you may also find that 'drop-in' doesn't always mean that you won't need some files and stones and a dremel.
