sometimes when there's topics started that are the same it gets merged - sometimes not... just wondering how it works :D

It works that we catch 'em when we can.

Many times you've got to open and read the post to determine if it's a duplicate. Some times duplicates just get deleted ...... some times they merge ...... other times they're missed.

And of course you get titles like "Look at this" or "_______ is stupid" and contains no commentary by the original poster .... only a link. I tend to not open those at all. If the title or the article and a few words from it aren't even posted by the author, I avoid blind links. That's just me .... other Mods have their own ways.

Not to mention that sometimes us mods enjoy being members, and don't want to do what posters should be doing themselves. It isn't all that difficult to do a quick perusal of existing threads before you start a new thread, to see if a thread relating to your new topic already exists.
