Hi again.

Whenever I try and email someone (Email - not PM) my computer takes me directly to Oulook 2010 and tries to get me to configure that as my mail. I have no clue why it is doing this as Hotmail has been my "account" for at least the last 10 years. My son loaded Office 2010 about 1 1/2 years ago and I've never had this problem before?

I want to add another issue I had a few minutes ago. A member emailed me asking about a WTS ad I have up and in that email he had an attachment. I'm just guessing here, but I think he tried attaching my ad but whatever he attached it took me to the same Outlook 2010 Wizard asking me to configure it. The Wizard asks questions I really don't know the answer to so I'm back at the beginning. Does some one here know what is going on? If not, I'll try contacting Microsoft support but I have had an extremely hard time in the past getting answers from them without having to go to the "pay us first" support team at MS. Thought I'd try you folks first.

Thanks

Well one last try to see if anyone has any ideas. I'll take it over to the lounge this weekend for a greater "audience" if no one has a clue.

Try going to:

Tools
Internet Options
Programs Tab
2nd box down should be "Email"

What is that set on?

BeagleDog,

You're running into the same problem I have. Your MSN web address doesn't use Outlook Express. It is web based email program.

The email function within php (which is what the Forum uses for bulletin board software) assumes the use of Outlook Express or other stand alone mail program. Currently it dosen't support any web based email program. Don't know what it would take to implement web based email, maybe one of the Matts will address that.

What I do to get around the issue is to mouse-over the 'email' button and look at the 'Status' toolbar at the bottom of the screen. Record the email address and go to your MSN email site. Manually enter the email address, and them proceed as normal. I know, it's a PITA...but it works. Perhaps Hitman's technique will work, I havent tried it yet.

Ted
