I've been packing my old model .44 Special that John built for me a few years back and had an opportunity to put it to use yesterday. Not a trophy by any standard but I was happy to get to take the shot. I'm fortunate to have two of John's fine guns. Thanks John for a really nice gun and my prayers are with you.

Oh you're wrong, that's a fine trophy & you're holding another one in your hand, that Gallagher six gun! Congratulations on some great eating & memories.

I agree with sixshot.
It's a FINE tribute to John's work. Do not apologize for the "size" of the deer. Kudos on a great hunt!

Thanks for sharing guys! It gives the rest of us hope to do the same. Only a few more days left in our deer season here. I mostly go out with my RedHawk in .44 mag, since most shots on my property are under 100 yds. Last deer I killed was shot at 17 yds with a .308!
