Been a busy Summer and hadn't been in my favorite FFL's place in a while. Stopped in the other day and found this sitting in his case. It was one of those guns you pick up and know immediately you are taking it home. 38 Special, Dates to 1959. Amazing condition for being around 60 years. Few minor wear marks. Numbers all match. I did replace the base pin with a 3rd gen Colt. Hard to see in the photo, but the head of the original base pin was all chewed up. Looks like it may have been stuck and someone used some pliers, or vise grips to remove it.

That is one nice Colt SAA you found there!

I keep coming back to this Post to look at
it. I find it captivating that is in 38 Special.

To me that is one Special Colt Revolver,
because everyone thinks of the Colt SAA
has to be made in 45Colt.

It appears to be well taken care of. I also
like the fact the Barrel is 5-1/2. I think
that is about perfect for shooting with.

Thank you for Sharing your story and
Pictures.

P.S. I will have to keep looking for one
of those.
