If you REALLY want to see UGLY, climb up and look into one of their nests when there are "chicks" in there. Did that when I was a teenager (probably because I just missed the pterodactyls....) and the images stick to me 60 years later. Never did like the word "chick" in any context since then!

The country people in Guatemala sometimes call vultures "abogados"--lawyers.

I worked in one of the BP buildings where these buzzards hang out in Houston.
They are not afraid of people at all and are a real nasty problem. They would stay on a ledge outside my office window so I could watch them up close. They removed the ledges because they were eating the caulking. Now they stay on the ground and make a mess. There are a 100s or so at any given time.

Wow. Never seen a pile of them hanging around like that. A pack of Jack Russels would end the issue in short order but my would it be ugly.

They are black buzzards in the video. We occasionally see them around here but most of the one in this area are the turkey buzzard (per my photo).
