Mountain Lion

South of Tucson the day after Christmas we were happy to see this Mountain Lion at the Desert Museum in Saguaro N.P.. Dr.C

I love the Sonoran Desert Museum. One of my very favorite places to visit. We used to go camp out near there when we lived in New Mexico. The county had a primitive but nice camping area nearby.

Is that alive or stuffed? Pretty kitty either way!

Don't be too sure, Joe. They've been seen and caught on trail cams a few times here "next door" to you in Alabama (though the fish and game department will tell you there are none). I know personally a reliable observer who watched one for over half an hour from a tree stand while bowhunting deer a couple of years ago. They are probably transient young males, for the most part. I doubt we have a breeding population.
