Todd Corder was kind enough to send me some of his new 230 grain 10mm bullets. I've been meaning to test them for a while now and finally did so over the weekend. I figured some of you would be interested in the results since we lack good 10mm revolver bullets.
The test gun was my recently completed 401 Bobcat. Load data as follows:
Brass - 220 Swift (Winchester)
Case length - 1.40"
OAL 1.75"
Powder - H110
Charge Weight - 23.5 (not max, but close)
Crimp - taper
Velocity - haven't chrono'd it yet
At 25 yards the load would print 1.0" - 1.5" all day. Then I moved out to 50 yards and got this group:
To say I'm impressed with the bullet would be an understatement. It's exactly the slug middle-bore shooters have wanted for years now. If you shoot 38-40, 401 PowerMag, 401 GNR, etc, I highly recommend this mold:
