While I'm not a fan of Micarta, they are well fitting. However those Turkish Walnut grips are wonderful!! I guess I'm a big fan of walnut of any flavor, as long it is Turkish. Also, very good photos by the way.

Thanks

Both sets very nice.
I like black Micarta on stainless guns, just counted eleven in the safe.
My Single Seven still needs a pair but my Hogues don't fit the grip frame.

thanks all!

I used to not care much for Micarta but the more I use it the more I like it. the black really looks good on the stainless guns.

Great looking grips, and excellent workmanship. :D

Re: Micarta. Just an option/suggestion - Various Ebony species (Gabon or Macassar are fairly common) are still available, but far more expensive.

Another way, is to ebonize other common hardwoods - hard maple for example using dye.

Either method you retain the subtle color and/or grain of very dark wood.

Many suppliers of Ebony, here's one:

I strongly recommend that buying ebony be in person, not via the internet. You need to get hands on, since there are often wide variations of color and grain, perhaps some flaws, even within a single board.

Boy, the grip to grip frame fits look absolutely perfect on both guns. I think black/almost black grips on stainless are a classic combo, whether micarta, ebony, or buffalo horn. Can't say as i have seen prettier pieces of wood than that Turkish Walnut. Wish i owned the kind of guns that deserved grips like that!
