Another factor was flying time. The Germans only and 10-15 minutes once they got to Britain, then they had to go back over the Channel, leaving the bombers undefended.

1,720 hp (1,283 kW) at 11,000 ft (3,353 m) Pretty close to the P-51 eng.

The last ones had this eng.

The aircraft that Billy Fiske flew during the Battle of Britain.

Billy was a member of the RAF 601 squadron, known as the "Millionaires." He was a two time gold medal winner in the Winter Olympics driving the four man bobsled and was one of the first American pilots killed in World War II.

He was also one of the founders of the Aspen Ski Resort and a producer of Hop-Along Cassidy movies. Quite a list of accomplishments for a man who only lived to 29 years of age.
