Are those the factory grips or are they aftermarket VZ's ??

Also ... is that frame olive drab green ? Or does it just look that way because of the lighting ?

All it needs is a long trigger to go with that flat MSH and it would be to my exact specs !!! :D

This is a limited edition Remington R1. Olive Drab Gun Kote frame and Black slide. The grips are factory. Still deciding if I want to change them or not. May change the MSH to an ached one. It comes with the Match grade barrel that the enhanced modle comes with and two eight round mags. If I could not have a Ruger, a Remington will do. At least it is made in the USA. Colt is just out of may price range.

Here's what my RIA 1911 looks like now ...... a 44 Mag Redhawk!

This came up at a local store ~ and a friend had offered by buy my RIA ~ so ...... the rest is history.

Oh yeah, it came with the factory wood grips but these Butler Creeks have proven themselves very nicely on my .41 Mag Redhawk and they're still available for under $20.00.

This is one that I built a few years back from an old beat up MilSpec. It's a very nice shooter.

No money down on one, my local shop stopped taking orders on them until they get caught up so it may be a while before I get my hands on one.

Right now I shoot a Taurus PT1911-AR

Image

No longer have the light.

I bought that on my 21st birthday 2 years ago, has been 100% reliable, but I'm at the point where it's going to need it's recoil spring replaced soon, the trigger is starting to go spongy, and the slide/frame fit is starting to loosen up. Still accurate enough and reliable, but I think the Ruger would be a great replacement.
I like the Ruger's price, feel, look, birthplace, and features and I think I'd prefer it as a carry gun as opposed to the Taurus with it's heavy weight, deep front serrations, large rail, and ambi-safety. Once I get my hands on one I'll be going to Wilson Combat's website and getting some cool stuff for the Taurus, then put some work into it to turn that into a sweet range gun.

Looks like it has Millett sights on it. These were very popular back in the '80s, I think they were available in just about every gun shop. Dunno what happened to them but you hardly ever see them anymore. :?
