Update: My SR1911 has arrived!

Woot woot! Very excited. This is the gun I have been wanting my favorite company to make since I began collecting firearms about 7 years ago. Thanks to the post in the "auction links, recurring items, and other deals" section I snagged one up.

I must say, I really like the other grip panel offerings Ruger has on their website. May have to place an order for some of those cocobolo offerings.

I got the Silverblack Diamondwood grips. Knocked out the red medallions and installed some black eagle medallions I'd been hoarding.

I ordered some things from Ruger yesterday with the 20% dicount I got for registering my LCR22. When I ordered someting for my SR1911 the sales person says "Wow you got one those? I've been waiting for one". I didn't tell him I got it last June :lol:

Congratulations. I just picked one up yesterday myself. This is my first 1911. Now I can't wait to shoot it.

The long wait for the SR1911 has ended. I've wanted this pistol LONG before they announced it. It has every feature I LOVE.

Matte stainless finish.
Nice factory wood grip panels (and a nice selection on shopruger)
Billboard underneath.
The nice Ruger rollmark, and the very well done logo on the other side.
Nice upgrades.
A steal at $680 out the door, in my opinion. I would pay several hundred more for a gun of this quality.
The list could go on!

Good for you! Fine photos and cross commentary. I was happy to suggest a source for RP and have some from that same FFL, who is a long time Friend. These are, indeed, fine Ruger firearms.......... :wink:

RugerPacker- wow dude- that thing is just plain ol' purty. I've been so glad we couldn't find any SRs, because I should NOT get one. But sheesh..that loooks so good. Ayoob reviews them in the new Complete Book of Handguns magazine- he really likes em, too.

RP, those grips look amazing on that pistol.
