I have a couple SR1911s and a SR1911CMD. All mine are very nice, but I looked at them before I bought them. One LGS had an Oktoberfest sale a couple weeks ago where they had them on sale for $625 and I was thinking about buying a second CMD, but then they had the new AR-556 for $599.95 so I bought one of those. Now my SR1911s give me 2 inch groups over bags when I sit down with good ammo. Oddly enough the CMD is the best because it has a great trigger. I bought it Jan. of 2013 and the date on the fired case is Dec. 7, 2012, which I thought was interesting.

Unless you go the route of having a gunsmith fit barrel installed, all 1911s ride the link.

Neither Springfield Loaded NOR my GI rode the link. My Ruger did. I didn't find it an issue. It made the gun feel like it locked up tighter than the GI. The Loaded needed some major break-in.
