We'll it technically isn't a Blackhawk. But the pre-BFR DMAX guns were pure Super Blackhawk. Not a bad deal at the current price.

I like this gun. Would somebody please give me the scoop on what it is. Is it not actually a Ruger cylinder frame?

Thanks,
Brian

BFR makes their own frames I believe. It is a copy and from all I know of them, a good copy. They also make extended frames in 30-30, 45-70, 22 hornet, and a few others.

Interesting guns and I have never heard any bad about them.

Do Ruger grip frames and main frames fit up to the BFR stuff, or was this a custom fit job?

I own a couple of bfr's. They are like custom rugers with all the improvements. They are made by Magnum Research. I have a 45-70 and a 475 linebaugh. Both are fine built guns. They are offered in a wide variety of calibers from 17 hmr up. They have the smoothest action I have ever felt and lock up like a safe. I like rugers don't get me wrong but comparing the ruger to the bfr is like comparing a VW to a CADILLAC both do the same job get you there but the difference is plain once you pick up a BFR and feel the difference. The BFR cost almost double what a ruger does. I own over 20 rugers and only 2 BFR's
