Here is a nice 44 that I got it in trade the other day with no real intention of keeping.
It is a 44 mag made mid 80s or so. The barrel was cut from 7.5" to 5.5". It is a pretty tidy job. The front sight was soldered back on and it looks like it may have been cold blued but it doesn't look bad by any means.
Since it was a 7.5", you get the cool unfluted cylinder and the good (larger) Dragoon grip frame. I pinned the chamber throats and all are .431, just about right for a .430 cast bullet. The action is very smooth, and the trigger has but a little creep. All in all, this ought to be a great shooting sixgun.
