Early .357 Blackhawks used barrel stock with six groove rifling, but most of those revolvers had 4-5/8" barrels. The switch was made to eight groove rifling shortly after the longer barreled models were introduced. Consequently, most 6.5" guns have the 8 groove rifling, making the 6 groove example very collectible. RENE estimates that only about 3200 of the 6 groove 6.5" guns like this one were produced. The known SN range is 21xxx-27xxx and this one falls right in the middle of that. Condition is about 96-97% with overall good blue showing some holster wear at the left muzzle and tip of ERH, and a moderate turn line. There is also some typical hammer discoloration. If you need this variation for your collection, this is a good opportunity to fill that slot. Serial number dates to 1959 production.
