This is a great old model flattop "Type 1" Blackhawk .357 Mag with all the correct early features (serrated ER button, capped base pin latch nut, narrow land base pin, well-curved skinny trigger, pointer on rear sight elevation screw). From second year of Blackhawk production, 1956, with 4-digit serial number from roughly mid-year by sequence, though I don't know the ship date (likely made prior to the very first .44 flattop later that year). Condition is excellent in the 98-99% condition range. There is some extremely minor holster wear in the usual spots (left muzzle, tip of ERH, front edge of cylinder) and the left grip eagle is missing 50% of the black paint. A few minor signs of being 63 years old. Not converted, bright bore with sharp rifling, smooth old model 4-click action. Outstanding collector grade type 1 flattop.

SPF (Was $1100) $1050 shipped FFL to FFL.

Barbarosa - a payment plan is always an option :)

Ale - thanks for the info!

If someone said "Ruger Blackhawk" in April, 1956, this is what they meant. No other calibers, barrel lengths, or configurations at the time. Ruger's first centerfire firearm. Other than these, all Ruger made at the time were .22 rimfire handguns.
