I just purchased my first Vaquero.
It is a old model ruger vaquero 45 colt 5.5" Bright Stainless.
I love this gun and it demands a holster.
I am looking for something in leather that would go on a cartridge belt.
If someone has something available for a fair price I would love to hear about it.
I am also interested in recommendations on internet sites who sell decent stuff for reasonable prices.

Thanks,

Here it is.

Dear Steve, I like your taste in Vaqueros. I would try Blackhills gunleather out of Laredo TX. I recently purchased a revolver that came with a holster rig from them and had them make me anothe stronside holster for the other side. I had my holster in 2 weeks and they are nice quality. I also have a guy out here in California that makes stuff for me but he likes to hand fit you and your gun. He's built some rigs for champion SASS shooters and motion picture rigs. Drop me a line and I could give you his contact info.

Howdy!
Decide if you want something 19th century or 20th century. El Paso Saddlery does a number of period correct (19th cent.) holsters. If you're looking for a buscadero rig (think: just about every 1950s and 60s TV western/movie), there are a number of other manufacturers to look at.
For actual wear, I've found the 19th century rigs to be more secure and comfortable.
