I have a couple Ruger ar556 rifles. Cleaning them side by side I noticed one had the read owners manual warning on the underside of the barrel. One is also a more phosphate looking finish on both the receiver and barrel. The one with the warning is dark black almost shiny looking , also the trigger guards are different. Nothing wrong with either just thought it strange about the warning label.

That's what I thought too at first. I checked my mpr and a guy I work with also has a mpr with no warnings. Again doesn't matter one way or the other, just thought it strange only one rifle out of 4 that I've checked has the warning.

That sounds like what PSA calls their nitride finish. Shiny and black. Any warning wording would have had to go on before that was applied. I'd wonder about barrel sourcing, too.

I'd ask around but the AR15s are made in Mayodan, not here.

My AR556 has writing on the barrel which reads,
Before using rifle-read instruction manual.
