Ruger 44 carbine marks

Take a look at pic 7. What causes the rings. This rifle has two rings. I bought mine new and the single ring was already on it. What causes/caused this? Mine came with peep sights which I find easier to use than the open sights.

I don't know what causes them, but most do have the two rings, so it is something in the manufacturing process.

If you are talking about on top of the receiver those are two rivets that hold the guide plate up in the receiver. The older models had two screws holding it. I think people thought it was for bases and would take them out and the plate would fall down. I think Ruger used rivets to stop that. They always seem to rust there if you don't keep them wiped down.

He's talking about the stainless steel plate that covers the ejection port.
