If they bring back the deer field carbine I wonder if the 10 mm would work in it .The other choice is the ar15 for the 10 mm .I wanted an HK mp5 10 mm but that's not going to happen .The 10 mm in a carbine is awesome for hunting or just fun .

For me, it isn't about a huge gain in velocity, it's about having a good cartridge in a good weapon that is easy to shoot well.

I just priced doing an AR build for 10mm. Too expensive. I was going to end up buying a Glock mag lower and mags and upper and ammo to have it reliable and run good. $$$ Especially when you can now get 350 Legend Uppers in the $200 price range and Winchester 145gr FMJ target ammo for $10/box and quality projectile hunting loads less than $20/box.
I currently have AR setups for .22, 5.56, 6.5 Grendel and 300 Blackout, adding an upper in 350 Legend, I don't even have to buy another bolt as it uses 5.56 bolt head. Couple that with being able to make my own 350 cases along with my 300 Blackout cases out of used 5.56 brass, I am going to bet a 350 Legend ends up in my kit soon.

You might want to check the SAAMI specs again on the case. The case is a bit larger than the .223 (therefore it's slightly rebated) and so you can't make 350 legend cases out of .223/5.56 brass.

Thank you, I was misinformed about whether or not it was a proprietary case. Too bad, seemed like a good deal as the Blackout cases are not hard to do at all if you are careful.

The 350 Legend took a lot of the goodie out of high performance pistol round carbines.
It's expensive to "build" a proper PCC on the AR platform with very little gained now that the 350 has reached the OTC level.
I'm still working on my 9mm PDW with the only hang up being getting the 80% lower milled out when time allows. The idea is solid after being tested using an "Endo-Mag" in a standard lower. I now have sub-sonic ammo using bullets that will expand at 950 fps, a selection of Glock(type) mags for the yet to be finished lower, and all the rest of the parts/pieces to make it workable. The muffler is still a year away but also "in the works".

I have a TNW Aero Carbine in 10mm and it will match or get real close to the velocities you were getting in your 357 mag rifles with 155gr and 180gr bullets plus you can shoot 200gr and 220gr bullets and they start out with a .40cal hole vs. a 357 hole not to mention a 15rd Glock magazine or larger. This is with Underwood or Buffalo Bore ammo but several manufacturers make full power 10mm ammo. Mine shoots really well and recoil is very mild. It goes well with my Springfield XDM 5.2 10mm and my EAA Witness 4.5" 10mm pistol. I see the TNW carbines going for around $550 now. You can also get caliber exchange kits for it for 9mm, 40, 45acp, and 460 Rowland for $200 to $300.
The 350 Legend will eclipse these velocities for longer range shooting. I shoot the Winchester 180gr PP ammo or the 147gr FMJ ammo. I found a deal on the Winchester Super X ammo at Basspro when they had it marked down to $10/box.

If loaded for the gun, the carbine 9mm can perform well. Using standard pressure loads (not + or +P), and slower burning powder, relatively speaking, 115 gr ball averages 1633 fps out of my AR-9, for 681 ft/lbs energy. The same load from a Glock 17 averaged 1247 fps, and under 400 ft/lbs energy.

I'd be interested in a 10mm AR, no question about it. Maybe one with a 10" barrel and arm brace.
