Today Is Firing Pin Install Day.
In today's mail I received the new firing pin.
re. "Fitting" the new firing pin.
I found this statement elsewhere on the internet: "There has to be few thousands gap between tang and bolt when pin is fully seated in firing position so that pin is stopped by bevel on pin against inside of bolt and not stopped by tang hitting bolt when struck by hammer."
My Question: what is the "tang" on the firing pin ?? Near as I can figure from reading elsewhere: the tang is the back-end of the firing pin which is struck by the hammer. I just want to verify that.
Other than that, I'm reasonably certain I understand the rest of that statement.
Thanks Much for your sharing your knowledge.
