Can factory Blued Mini14 mags be coated in one of the popular brands such as Duracoat without it making them unreliable?

I would think the only thing you would have to worry about if you just coat the exterior is if they will still fit. I can't see how an exterior coating is going to effect how the magazine functions.

The exterior is one concern but the interior walls and functionality is another.

Why would you want a magazine coated? The exposed portion could be, give a good grip. Or color coordinated?
