Actually this is for a flat top non-Ruger AR pistol. I'd like to stay in the $40 price range, give or take a couple dollars. Amazon has several, as does Optics Planet but without handling them it's difficult to tell what's good and what's not. I see some enthusiasts have the options of spending up to hundreds of dollars, but I'm at the ....other end of the spectrum. Weaver has one but again, I've not handled it. They've been good in the past with straight rings and bases, but this cantilevered style is a new animal to me. Links would be wonderful too.
Here's the Weaver:

Thanks friends.
Say. When is Ruger going to bring out an AR pistol? Are you folks there at "our" company listening? The AR pistol style is a very valid firearm! Think of the innovations Ruger could bring to the table.
Thanks again. Don.

Don, I'm not an expert on these kind of bases but I used that same base on my Windham AR and am completely happy with it. I did run a lapping rod through the rings and it removed a little material but I ended up with full contact between the rings and the scope.

There is a knock-off of the Aero mount on amazon. Main difference is it uses hex head vs torx screws and has 1" inserts in a 30mm ring rather than being made in both sizes. It's about $30, IIRC. I use the Aero for my center-fires, but they are about $70. Links added.

Say thank you too. Before I assembled an AR, I had no idea just how much there was available in accessories. And mounts! Wow. Hard for an old fella like me to know where to start. Thanks again to you both. Don

I have two of the Weaver mounts you mentioned. I like them very much. Good quality, low cost. Does the job.
