I just passed on a stainless, LH M77 MKII on Gunbroker which I'm thinking was a mistake. It did get me to thinking, since I can't find Chet's reference, how long of a time period did they make these? I'm guessing they were only in the more popular calibers (the one I was looking at was in 30-06) and probably ~5% of the right handed production numbers. Any information on these guns? Will I be waiting some time for another to show up on GB?

A bit of a difference between the Hawkeye and the MkII and id bet there are a lot fewer left handed MkII's out there than Hawkeyes. And if Clark is like a lot of us and doesn't care for the gaudy and rough bead blasted Hawkeye good luck even leading that horse to the water...

Yeah, who needs wrap-around checkering, a steel floorplate with an engraved logo and a much improved trigger. I got in three last month and two have rolled out the door already at good margins.
