I remember in Ruger catalogs from the 90's there was a side by side photograph of every cartridge the 77 was available in. It was two pages wide, from .222 Remington to .458 Lott.

Who wants a single shot 22? Not me.

I do, for one, but not in a #1.

Grew up shooting an Ithaca Model 49 .22 single shot. It got away decades ago but in 2001 I found a nice one at a gun show for $105. No hesitation at all.

Not an expensive rifle ($22 MSRP back when they were introduced in 1961), but it has a great trigger and with the irons I can hit clay pigeons on a regular basis at 100 yards. And the misses aren't by much. With a scope clays at 100 would a 100% proposition.

I shoot this rifle quite a bit at the range when I'm waiting for others to cool. Took a lot of small game with mine as a kid.

Just saw an ad for a new 22LR single shot, break action with a 16" inch barrel for $209.

There goes Ruger's chance to carve out a new market for the #1.

As you scroll thru the Talo website there is a remark at about a 22 #1. There seems to have been a proof reading error, in the 2018 catalog, that has caused all the speculation regarding a rimfire #1.

I'm a super fan of any single shots in any caliber, but a 22LR single shot can be a fun little rifle. I have an old Winchester Winder that's a ball to shoot.
