I have an older ruger m77 .300 win mag but the stock is broken. I'm wanting to get a new stock does anyone know if the mark 2 stock will fit it. All I can seem to find is mark 2 stocks

No, the Mark 2 stocks will not fit. If you can't find a Ruger stock, Boyd's and Richards Microfit Stocks sell similar replacement stocks.

Here's what Boyds has for the long action M77.... you can also choose a different style.

Welcome to the forum !

If it was my rifle, I'd surely investigate repairing the existing stock - usually very doable.

I've even successful repaired stocks that snapped in two at the wrist via glass-bedding an internal metal rod that spanned the break.

The only difficult (but not impossible) stock repairs arise when some wood has split away & gone walkabout.

Give Norman a call and see what he can come up with. He does very nice work but you will need to sand and finish yourself or send it somewhere else for finishing.

New old stock factory laminated stock at Numrich:

Might have to open up the barrel channel a little for a 300.

Good luck.

I love that stock, but it is for a ultralight barrel contour. There would be a considerable amount of channel alteration needed to accept the medium weight contour of the .300 Win. mag. barrel.
