What's the local news on the two livestock traders(brother) who went missing early this week? I'm getting bits and pieces but pretty skimpy info.

Lots of speculation on the scenario. The two brothers are still missing despite several local agencies and civilians out looking. Some questions may be answered if/when the residue of a burned brushpile(?) cools enough to sift through.
Some pretty evil folks here and there. Another reminder not to go into questionable deals "light". Sorry for the family of those guys.

Got a decent link to this? Some of us on the right coast don't have a clue as to what you are discussing.

I don't do links but KNBC TV had a line on their website. KC Star has an article also.
Latest report is the Caldwell county Sheriff had arrested a man on vehicle tampering charges relating to the illegal possessing and use of a rental vehicle. The GPS unit in that vehicle has produced some very incrimination evidence and a timeline of what may have occurred. At least the suspect can't cut and run while the rest of the story unfolds. Investigation has switched from a missing persons search to something like a suspicious death investigation.
The primary suspect had recently served a couple years in Leavenworth prison for a felony cattle fraud conviction and was known to be a bad actor. I've seen similar situations in my area several times. It's just unfortunate that the two young men underestimated the evil underside of this person or overestimated their capability to deal with same.

Yet to be identified human remains have been found on the suspect's property. The information provided by the rental vehicle's tracking unit has been a key to how the scenario played out. Very likely more people involved but nothing being said about that as the investigation continues.
On the way to my Dr. appointment in KC, I noted locations and distances and such as we drove through the area of the crime. This situation developed quickly and was over in a very short time. Whoever drove the rented vehicle to the location where it was found had to have been picked up by an accomplice or had left a vehicle in the lot already.

Becoming even more gruesome. Investigators hauled away (under police escort) a large "tub grinder". For those who may not know what this is, imagine a giant wood chipper fed by a large rotating "tub" that's meant to shred bales of hay into fine particles. The machine was taken to an unknown location to be tested for human residue.

Yeah, gives "pre-meditated" a new meaning.

Numerous charges including 2x murder, 2x abandonment of a corpse, felon in possession of a firearm, tampering with a motor vehicle, illegally moving sick livestock across state lines, plus a whole list of other stuff I can't remember.
The report indicated the Brothers were shot, stuffed in barrels, burned using liquid fuel in the barrels, and the remains dumped in a brush pile.
The timeline I read didn't leave much time for arguing or squabbling before the act took place. He was waiting for them to show up and had already planned the scenario. The guys tackled a hard case and he killed them--as simple as that.

If a deal is too good to be true? It is probably is a bad deal! A pity for their families!

We've seen several cases of local(ish) people defrauding out of state livestock owners/buyers. A similar scenario occurred on a farm 4 miles from here about 20 years ago. The farmer was feeding cattle for an out of state owner but when the owner asked about where the profits went, he claimed coyote depredation killed almost all the calves. When investigated, the farmer was found to have been selling the calves as his own. He hung himself in a barn I can see from my driveway.
Another scammer just up the road a few miles was misrepresenting cattle and selling them as different than they actually were. He ended up in the state pen for several years after he confronted a buyer and threatened to kill him with a hammer.
These guys aren't "playing games", they play for keepers.
