I have 2 concealed carry permits, one for Nevada and the other for Utah. I took both classes in Nevada since i have family that lives there and am also in the process of trying to become a police officer so i got both permits a bit over a year ago, figured why not and it was fun, interesting class to take and you learn a lot. You can get both Utah and Nevada permits in Nevada, and with both permits together you get reciprocity in ~40 states, so i can legally carry in most states except for the Republik of California and other gun hating states.
I just don't understand why these couple states are so against issuing CCW permits to law abiding citizens. It's a fact that when other states started issuing CCW permits, crimes in those states went down because now the bad guys don't know if the 60yr old grandpa eating lunch with his grandchildren is carrying a firearm or not. As of now it's the criminals that have the guns and the law abiding citizens that don't; basically leaving the law abiding citizen at the mercy of the bad guy because the bad guy knows it is HIGHLY unlikely for there to be an off-duty cop in the building he is about to rob, so he doesn't have much fear and knows it's not going to really be a risk.
Now if its a CCW friendly state, that robber is going to think twice before robbing a place, if he robs it at all since there could be an armed citizen inside it's going to make him think really hard before he goes through with it because there's a much greater chance of him getting shot.
Also, how many CCW permit holders have gone on shooting rampages or even shot people illegally?? My guess is very few, since you have to pass an extensive background check by the FBI, BCI, and the local PD. Any record of violence/drug charges, etc. and you won't be issued one, so my guess is VERY FEW CCW permit holders have used their gun illegally.
Bad guys don't get a CCW permit, they just carry a concealed firearm illegally and keep it hidden until they decide they want to rob someone/someplace or shoot someone. They have no problems getting a gun, hell you can buy guns off the street in bad areas so guns are very easy to get, yet a lawful citizen who hasn't broken a major law in his life and has been a model citizen his whole life can't carry a concealed firearm even after extensive training because CCW permits are not issued in that specific state even though it's ben PROVEN in other states that when CCW permits have been issued, crime rates have dropped! Damn Republik of California and all other non-friendly gun states.
BTW 1 thing i really don't understand is a 10 day waiting period AFTER you already own a firearm. It's supposedly a "cooling off" period, but if you already have a firearm and i wanted to shoot someone i would go buy bullets lol, not a new gun. I can understand if you don't own a firearm and on your first purchase they have a 10 day waiting period, but after that there's literally no point, just an inconvenience to make it more of a hassle to purchase a firearm. These stupid politicians with their stupid laws can all go you know where... We got along just fine for hundreds of years without all these laws, i don't see why they need all these ridiculous laws it's seriously starting to become a joke. I can't wait to become a police officer so i don't have to deal with California's BS gun control laws.
Sorry for the rant i just get worked up when i talk about gun laws, they're seriously SO stupid, every other state does just fine without all these laws i don't see the reason for all this gun control laws.. If you want to shoot and kill somebody, gun control laws and a "10rd. maximum magazine" isn't going to stop anybody from killing someone by shooting them if that;s what they really want to do. Does a 10rd. mag really make a difference if i wanted to shoot someone?? I think the first, if not second round will kill the person that is shot, you still have 9 rounds left.. What does that law protect i just don't get it.
Where it would matter is a full-auto assault rifle, then yeah i could see the point of limiting everybody to a 10rd mag maximum, but full-auto guns are illegal in CA so i still don't understand the 10rd. max?? I guess ill just go and buy a couple more magazines??? lol, whoever thought up that law was a genius
