I've had non-resident licenses for the states of Utah and Florida for quite some time now. And, I carry every chance I get where they make me legal to do so.

I'm a resident of Illinois. So, most of you know that we were the last hold-outs on CC. But the jerks finally lost and we will be getting it next year. They're supposed to start issuing licenses the first of the year. I've already attended the class and gotten my certificate, so I just have to apply, which I will.

Believe it or not, I'm planning on carrying a Browning Hi-Power, or 1911 during the Winter months. I've had a lot of experienced people tell that it's really easy if you just think it through. Spring and Fall will be covered by a CZ Compact. And any really hot days, where clothing is minimal, will be covered by a J-Frame, or my CS9. The smaller guns may also make the grade as a BUG during the rest of the year. Just have to work this out. I've got some experimenting to do with guns and holsters to see what's really gonna work for me. About the only handgun I have that I've got to rule out, is my M27, 8-3/8" bbl. I would look like Jack Nickleson's version of the Joker carrying that monster.

I haven't carried much since I was an AFOSI Special Agent way back in the middle of my USAF career. So, my carry skills are really rusty, and most likely out of date. At least that what they seem like.

I'm going to sign up for a number of the specialized classes that one of my local gun ranges feature. It should help some.

I vote yea on the CPL.

Had another one back in the 80's but it was limited and I let it lapse as it was basicly for hunting with my Blackhawk.

Have had a Pennsylvania CCW permit since 1975. My county makes it fairly easy.

Is your county non-resident friendly? And in Western PA by any chance?

Just took a class Saturday and put in my application today. It's "Shall issue" here in MN, and I just went through through the background check a few months ago, when I bought my S&W Shield, so not expecting any problems. Got to get a holster.

My CPL (Concealed Pistol License) as Washington State calls it is my main permit, I also have a CPL from Utah and Arizona which grants me carry rights in many other sates as well, except places like Cali-for-na-ca-tion, Oregon, Colorado, Illinois, and some states on the east coast, which is OK with me because I have no desire to visit the eastern seaboard.

Here is a cool link that shows what other states will honor your permit, check it out ! >>> http://www.usacarry.com/concealed_carry_permit_reciprocity_maps.html <<<

I have an Oregon CCW. I plan on obtaining a Utah permit which will enable me to carry in most all western states, I believe, except California, Nevada, and Washington . Don't know about Colorado.

I've had a California CCW for years, and just turned in all the paperwork to convert it over to a Kansas CHL. My wife turned in her paperwork this morning to the Sheriff's Department to get her first license.
