I have been looking for a single six with both cylinders because I have a good stock of 22mag and no revolver to shoot them in. So logical answer "buy another gun " !!! Seems like most of the Single Sixes now only have the 22 lr cylinder ? Is that common ?

Other than Bisleys and Wranglers, I think most Single Sixes come with two cylinders. There are so many variations hard to say with 100% certainty but that is usually what I see.

I have two 9.5" Single Sixes and neither has the magnum cylinder. Of course, they are "Star" guns. Big Larry

I bought a Single Six off a friend last year missing the magnum cylinder. This past Saturday I found a mint condition magnum cylinder for $25 in a local gun shop. Took it home and it works perfectly :) Now to find a grip or set of grips to replace the chipped one on my gun.

If you purchase a Single Six, new or used, in stainless steel with both cylinders it will outlast your Grand Kids Kids. Seems expensive now, but it will be 'cheap' 60 years down the road. My Father purchased an M1 carbine in '64 for $20. It was a truck gun. We didn't hurt it too bad, even during our learning curve with reloading. It's still here, runs like a champ.
If you can, read "The Specialist"* by Chic Sale. I hope your thoughts will be "buy the best quality plus a bit more than you think you can afford" and you will have the rest of your life to think back and say "I did good." Not to mention what you will pass on.
And do it while you can.
