Initially I was a bit disappointed as the rear sight was a Williams circle in a circle was not able to adjust elevation.

I purchased rear William's red adjustable rear sights.

Things are much better . Super tight group 25 yards with mixed bulk ammo.

I was able to take it out to 80 to 100 yards with relative ease. Picking off small pieces of wood 16 ounce bottles etc.

I used one of the bx 25 round mags and a GSG 100 round mag.

This little gun is fun.

When the wind calms down I will dial In at 50 yards.

Eventually he a primary arms acss 22lr 6 x 24

Great scope for the 22lr

What sort of Williams rear sight did your rifle have? Mine came with the standard adjustable elevation type used on the 10/22, probably made by Lyman or Marble's.

Mine came with green fiber front and a rear circle inside of a circle. Recessed crown barrel 18 inch barrel.
Found it ! marbles scroll down to bullseye
It was the one with no elevation.

I have very positive experiences with the American Rimfire(s).

I did not know there was a model that came with aperture sights, and I further cannot understand why such a sight would not be adjustable for elevation.

Can you provide the model, and maybe even share a photo?

Is it this one? https://ruger.com/products/americanRimfireCompact/specSheets/8328.html

I can tell you with the rear fiber optic it is a nice tack driver. Very pleased with it now. I am sure that when I put a scope on it I will be able to stretch it put with ease.

Did you purchase the rifle new? The Marble's Bullseye sight is usually put on single shots and lever actions, I have a couple of them. Even if Ruger put it on at the factory, I don't know why they would go with the fixed elevation version.

Yeah I was told it was new. Armslist. No Mark's on bolt or any other place, no wear Mark's. Said it was talo edition. Came in original packaging. Everything looked legit

No matter..... I got it a very good price
The additional cost of the William's adjustable rear peeps was not that big a deal.

Ok, I see. Distributor specials often have non-standard features, although I still don't see why they would have handicapped the rifle with no elevation adjustment. I will say, the elevation adjustable Bullseye is an excellent sight.

Now it's just a super great little rifle.
You are right they handy capped it with that particular sight.
The elevation adjustable one would have made more sense.

Using that 100 round drum mag was a hoot. No reloading.
25 round mags more practical. Both were fun.
