Just got my Mark 4. Fired it today and it was great. The screws on the top were not even close to flush so I tightened them but then the bolt wouldn't cycle so they went in too far. At some point I'm gonna put a rail on and then put a red dot. But for now, do I just seat them until they're flush with the receiver and not all the way down?

Seat them flush with the top of the receiver and check that they don't protrude out the bottom.
A drop of blue loctite or fingernail polish will keep you from losing them.

You might even consider removing just the rear screw. That's the ONLY screw that can protrude through the receiver and get tangled up with the recoil assembly spring.
