The only way to get the actual "born-on" date is to contact Ruger with the serial number. What Ruger shows on their web-site is when that serial number was "shipped" not made. Says so on the bottom of that very same page.

Pat, if you don't mind a question, where do you locate that link on http://www.ruger.com?
To be honest with you I don't remember.

I add links to a file I maintain, divided by subject, and back that file up regularly.
As such, it could have been years ago, and was probably on a different computer.
Sorry.

Looks like the site has a new feature(?), eliminating the old method where you first had to select your firearm model/series:
https://ruger.com/dataProcess/serialHistory/

I haven't tried this version, yet...

Pat, thanks anyway I had begun to suspect that Ruger had changed their
website and not for the betterment sadly. Oh well, management tossed
Alex Sturm's memory in the waste bin with their dropping his initial from
the logo and then they went all out making plastic fantastic mini pistols,
time for those of us who remember the old Ruger of wood and blued
or stainless steel to look to GunBroker or other auction sites. I've had
great luck finding out of production good specimens there. Again, thanks.

Just bought one from a shop, with an extra mag, box, manual, and warranty card, for under $220. I did get the frequent flyer discount, and I suspect I got a smokin' deal on that one.
I would say so. Nice get.
