A LGS just got in a large collection of guns and one that jumped out at me was a Single Six (TALO I believe) 22lr/22wmr Birdshead 3" bright stainless. So far it just has the Magnum cylinder in it but the shop owner thinks he has the box with the 22 LR cylinder. I'm trying to find out what the value is since he hasn't priced it yet so any ideas would be appreciated.

They used to bring good money ($600-$700) for the complete package since it was a limited run but I haven't seen one sell in a while to know if those prices are still current. TALO made 2 runs, one with black grips and one with white. Hopefully the shop can find the other cylinder and you can get it for a decent price.

According to my research this one is called a Blackbird. Even if the box and 22 LR cylinder don't turn up I'm going to buy this one, it's so cool.

Nice find! Hopefully your dealer can find the.22 LR cylinder and the original box. FYI, I found these pictures (now sold), of a Blackbird from an old ad on Gunsamerica. The Catalog No. and the Model No. are shown on the side of the box.

They are really neat compact guns.
Should the box & other cylinder not turn up,
A call to Ruger would identify if it's a White or Black Bird, the Whitebird had a "I" at the end of the catalogue #.
FWIW; The missing cylinder is a fairly easy fix/ replaced.
Whitebird's were bringing 1300-1500, while the Blackbirds were bringing 700-1100.

Remember we need a picture to confirm the bird lives in a new nest....

My Blackbird fitted with a Bisley Hammer. Trigger web removed & dimpled ERB.

WARNING; this gun is a gateway to the 327M

Original Whitebird grips are hard to find, and many are broken. The original Lett Ivory like material was nice but very soft and brittle.
I prefer the Black Mikarta for everyday use.
