looking mainly for a replacement blade with a v notch or peep instead of the factory square notch. the new model 8 shot blades are larger so they won't fit in slot. i was thinking someone on here may be able to suggest someone to contact to fabricate something or suggest ideas. it is a sweet little revolver. i just want to explore options and as these are discontinued and parts seem like hens teeth. front sight is pinned and i believe any changes i may want to make there would work with any sp101 sight options. many thanks for your input.

Forum member "sixshot" has offered peep-style blades here in the past.

You could contact him via PM, or look at the following posts:

(Includes current link, to purchase the peep-style blades...)

Ruger might be a place to get sight blades. Some Ruger revolvers came with a V-notch sight blade. (My Single-Six Hunter has one.)

MidwayUSA also has four options that might fit:

I'm daydreaming about sight blades... and I may have given misleading info(?). I also re-read your post, re: some newer blades being larger and not fitting the slot.

IIRC, the "old" .22 SP101 models had "windage only" adjustable rear sights.

I've never had one of those sights apart. The sight blades I referenced above may need to be modified to fit that gun, or might not be a workable solution, at all.

Good luck, and remember to post pictures of your project! :p
